Professional Au Pair Requirements
To be accepted into our Professional Au Pair Program, candidates must:
- Fulfill all Regular Au Pair Agency requirements (see below)
- Be at least 19 years of age
- Have two-years of full-time experience with children and/or a degree in a related field, such as:
- Early Childhood Development
- Pediatric Nursing (baby nurses)
- Nursery/Kindergarten Teaching
- Elementary School Teaching
- Occupational, Physical, Speech Therapy
Regular Au Pair Requirements
To be accepted into our Regular Au Pair Program candidates must:
- Have at least 400 hours of child care experience
- Be between 18 and 26 years old on the projected arrival date
- Be proficient in spoken English
- Have completed secondary school
- Be able to provide at least 3 references (at least one must be related to childcare work experience)
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass a psychometric test
ProAuPair Staff
- Interviews all candidates in-person during frequent road shows in Europe
- Verifies all references (teachers, employers, personal reference, child care references) in the referees’ native language
