Documentary 'Swim Team' Brings Hope to All Who Watch

July 10, 2017
A triumphant story about a high school swim team is making waves this week as it premieres in theaters across the country. This is no ordinary documentary- all 13 members of the Jersey Hammerheads team are on the autism spectrum.

The film takes place in Perth Amboy, N.J. and chronicles the high school swimming career of three main students: Mikey, Robbie and Kelvin. Mikey's parents cofounded the team as a response to their son being ostracized. They knew the potential that he had to succeed.

Swim Team follows the Jersey Hammerheads over two years as they grow as a team, face the challenges of high school and achieve competitive success.
